Types of Glass Greenhouse

Jun. 28, 2021

A glass greenhouse refers to a greenhouse that uses glass as the lighting material. It is a kind of greenhouse. Among the cultivation facilities, glass greenhouse is a form of longer service life and is suitable for use in different regions and different climatic conditions. There are many types of greenhouses and the greenhouse supplier will introduce glass greenhouse.

Types of Glass Greenhouse

The industry is divided into different construction modes according to the size of span and span and into different types of use: vegetable glass greenhouse, flower glass greenhouse, seedling glass greenhouse, natural glass greenhouse, scientific research glass greenhouse, three-dimensional glass greenhouse, and shaped glass greenhouse.

Glass greenhouse, leisure glass greenhouse, intelligent glass greenhouse, etc. The area and usage can be freely allocated by greenhouse owners. Smaller ones are courtyard leisure type, DIY garden greenhouse, large height up to 10 meters or more, span up to 16 meters, open space up to 10 meters, intelligent up to one key control. Glass greenhouse winter heating problems can be used in a variety of heating methods, energy costs are moderate, most can be accepted.

Agricultural experts have found that the intensity of light plays a decisive role in the yield of crops during the growth of vegetables. In the Netherlands, where modern agriculture is developed, the development of glass greenhouses is an example for countries around the world to follow. How to increase yields in the face of unfavorable production climates? Especially for light-loving crops such as tomatoes, cucumbers, and colored peppers.

Ultra-white diffuse glass has a high light transmission to reach the greenhouse to the maximum extent to meet the spectrum required for plant photosynthesis, and scattered light enters the greenhouse more deeply and evenly to increase the photosynthesis rate of the lower and middle canopy to improve crop photosynthesis and increase crop yield. Different textures on the diffuse glass surface adjust the light scattering rate to maximize uniform radiation light. In addition, plant photoinhibition measured under the scattered light treatment was less when outdoor solar radiation was high. Under sunny conditions, the temperature of the upper leaves of the diffused glass greenhouse canopy was reduced by 3 to 5°C, compared to that of float glass.

Why do greenhouses use diffused glass?

For greenhouses, the most important thing is the total amount of light energy. If there is less direct sunlight, a lower haze (haze is the intensity of transmitted light that deviates from the incident light by an angle greater than 2.5° as a percentage of the total transmitted light intensity) needs to be used, and direct sunlight requires a higher intensity of haze scattered light. For higher plants such as fruit trees and cucumbers, high haze glass is suitable, and low haze glass is suitable for lower plants such as seedlings, vegetables, and flowers.
